Im Winter 1952 haben Eva und Dieter das erste Mal miteinander getanzt. Sie haben geheiratet und drei Kinder bekommen. Sie haben gestritten, Krisen gemeistert und sind zusammen alt geworden. Nun beginnen Evas Kräfte zu schwinden. Ein allerletztes Mal schlagen sie als Paar einen neuen Weg ein, blicken zurück auf die glücklichen Momente, aber auch auf das Unvermeidliche, das vor ihnen liegt.
