What data we are collecting

Contact information. For example, we might collect your email address if you sign up for our emails or leave feedback in our forms.

Information you submit or post. For example, we collect the information you post in a public space on our website. We also collect information if you respond to a survey.

Demographic information. We may collect your zip code to help you find cinemas relevant to you.

We passively collect information about your browsing history on Watchpedia. We use unique browser cookies and web beacons to identify your browser in a pseudonymized way.

We might get limited information about you from third parties. Examples for this include your profile ID and the information you gave access to when you log in through a certain login provider. From certain partner tracking networks, we might get information on entertainment purchases you made through a link from Watchpedia.

We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. If you use our mobile app, we may collect your GPS location with additional consent. We might look at how often you use the app and where you downloaded it.

How we are storing and processing your data

We process and store your data in highly secure data centers within the EU, operated by Hetzner in Germany among others.

All supplied information is encrypted in transit (TLS) as well as at rest. Access to personalized information by employees is limited and audited.

Processing and storage of Information that is potentially personally identifiable is reduced to the minimum for operating the service (for example: your mobile GPS location is rounded to a hundred metres before asking our systems to look up cinemas near you). Where needed, this kind of information is subject to access control, strict retention and pseudonymization.

We keep personal information as long as it is necessary or relevant for the practices described in this Policy, but at most for a total of 50 months. After this period all of your data is automatically deleted if you do not stay active on Watchpedia, except where otherwise required by law.

We are holding your data to the highest standards currently achievable in security process and technology, but the Internet itself is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our sites will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet. This includes not sharing your passwords.

About Third Parties and Advertising:

We may share information with third parties.

We will share information with our business partners you agreed to. Specifically, we are sharing site usage data with Social Media platforms such as Youtube or Facebook in order to be able to show you ads related to your movie taste. We are tracking usage data on our site and apps through Google Analytics.

We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if a part of our business was sold, we may give our customer list as part of that transaction.
