Splendid Italian movie directed by Dacia Maraini, starring Tomas Milian and Macha Méril. In a noble villa of Bagheria, near Palermo, in Sicily, two spouses, Silvio and Leda Pataneo, spend their days devoting themselves mainly to the care of a citrus grove. But they suffer severe pressure from two people. Based on the homonymous novel by Alberto Moravia.
