Victor is een ex-duikkampioen van in de twintig die bij zijn grootmoeder in een Griekse kustplaats woont. Na haar plotselinge overlijden springt hij zonder opgaaf van reden in een stoffige oude auto en begint aan een rit met als einddoel Duitsland. Op de veerboot ontmoet hij Matthias, een knappe Duitser. Victor zit absoluut niet op gezelschap te wachten, maar de vrijgevochten Matthias weet hem toch te verleiden hem een lift naar Duitsland te geven.
