Ambientato tra gli alti Pirenei nel sud-ovest della Francia, Damien vive con sua madre Marianne, una dottoressa, mentre suo padre, un pilota, è in servizio con i militari francesi. A scuola, Damien viene maltrattato da Thomas, che vive nella comunità agricola sulle montagne. I due ragazzi si trovano a vivere insieme quando Marianne invita Thomas a stare con loro mentre sua madre è all'ospedale. Damien deve imparare a vivere con il ragazzo che lo terrorizza.
