Den franske film ”Min nye veninde” handler om Claire, hvis bedste veninde lige er død. Hun efterlader sig sin mand, David, og deres lille datter. Claire falder ned i et mørkt hul efter venindens død, og det er først da hun opdager en overraskende side af David, at hun bliver rusket nok i til at få lysten til livet tilbage.
