Pablo und Diego sind unterwegs als Ärzte in humanitärer Mission im Irak und begleiten gerade einen amerikanischen Konvoi, als das Fahrzeug vor ihnen auf eine Mine fährt und sie selbst unter Beschuss geraten. Pablo und Diego fliehen in ein nahegelegenes Privathaus, wo die Verletzten in Notwehr drei männliche Familienmitglieder töten. Nach seiner Genesung daheim in Spanien soll Pablo bestätigen, dass es sich bei den Getöteten um Terroristen gehandelt habe. Pablo weigert sich und gerät in Schwierigkeiten.
