An old but beautiful bridge collapses in the little city and the inhabitants are unable to lift it up again. Professor Balthazar find the culprit, Sigmund the saw fish, who has been practicing sawing on the pillars.

The little city is protected against fire by two dedicated firemen, but since there never are any fires, they are laid off. Professor Balthazar find a solution so that they can continue to practice fire extinguishing in a nearby volcano.

In Balthazar Town all the right-foot shoes suddenly disappear. Professor Balthazar invents an automatic shoe-detector, the Autosniffer, which finds the thief: a centipede who has to walk over some very sharp stones every day. Balthazar finds a soft carpet for the centipede and lays it over the stones.

Alfie the tramp, Peter the postman, Florian the street sweeper and many other inhabitants have lost their right shoes. The baffled people turn to professor Balthazar to solve the mystery of the disappeared shoes. The hunt leads to a centipede who need the shoes to protect her feet against a rocky beach.
9. Pepino Cicerone

Pepino the Stork was very inquisitive. On his flights from North to South and back again, he was always arriving late, because he kept stopping to look at various things along the way which he did not understand. And so Pepino always flew alone as the other storks did not have the patience to wait for him. Professor Balthazar helped him by explaining all these things which he found so interesting and teaching him about everything. From then on Pepino always led the other storks and along the way told them all abut everything. That is why he was given the name Pepino Cicerone.

In the fall the storks leave the city together to head south. Only one stork, Peppino, is delayed and must stay by himself over the winter. Professor Balthazar teaches him about geography and famous places so he can be a tourist guide to the other storks the next fall.
7. Cloudy With Brawlstorms

The threatening cloud which has floated over Balthazar Town is causing frayed tempers, anger and rudeness. Everyone is continually quarrelling Professor Balthazar flies up to the cloud in his new tea-pot flying machine and sprays it with a liquid which melts and destroys it. The frayed tempers come to an end – and good humour reigns once again in the town.
6. Vanilla Monster

Rudi the retired scientist believed that there was a monster in the town lake like the one in Lochness. He believed in this but had no proof. Professor Balthazar found a way of luring the monster onto the Surface of the lake and from then on the monster Fu-Fu, Rudi and Professor Balthazar became very good friends, attracting the attention of the other citizens of Balthazar Town through their tricks.
5. Maxol

Maxi the gardener is being ruined because nothing In his garden and orchard will grow tall. Only his twin sons are growing taller and taller so that he can no longer feed nor clothe them. Professor Balthazar invents Maxol – a strange liquid which makes the fruit grow to gargantuan size.
4. Lion Share

There is very little shade in deserts and lions just love to sit in the shade. But in the shade of just one palm tree there is no room for two lions. Professor Balthazar solves this problem too: he shows some seeds, waters the sand with some magic water and a forest of sunshades spring up in the desert.

Pirate captain Bobo and his crew of one lose their pirate ship and have to find employment. Unsuccessfully working as scarecrows or at the dark ride of an amusement field, professor Balthazar help them out so they can earn a living as pirates in a peaceful way.

The increasing car traffic and the air pollution of the city means that Frank the beekeeper must leave the city with his bees. But something needs to be done about the poisonous environment. Professor Balthazar develops a windmill that purify the air. But without bees, there are no fruit or flowers growing in the city.
