Michael Menson, who had been part of a successful pop band in the 1980s, had a history of mental illness, but he told his family he'd been attacked and his family campaigned to get police to investigate.

When a homeless man is searching for food in bins outside flats in Camden, North London he thought he had discovered discarded meat, what he'd actually found was dismembered body parts wrapped in black plastic bags. Police from New Scotland Yard immediately throw a cordon around the area and carry out an extensive search, and very quickly discover more limbs wrapped in the same way.
