18. The Bonus Check

Jane manages to convince Jeremy to show his designs to Harrods, which helps save the entire Donovan Decker team. To reward her, Gray presents Jane with a check for $5,000. But all is not perfect, which Jane discovers when Billy shows her the ruined costumes for the upcoming play. She also finds out that Billy and Zoe slept together and Miss Shaw now knows she is living on her own. Eli admits to Jane that he slept with someone, but he won’t say who. Ben comes home for a surprise visit and learns Jane’s situation. He makes a decision to stay home, and asks Rita to give him another chance. After too many problems cause the school play to be cancelled, Jane offers her bonus check to Amanda to help save the play. Meanwhile, after a mix-up, Gray and Eli attend the play and Gray is impressed by the costumes and then surprised to discover they are Jane’s designs.

Jane realizes she doesn’t want to be by herself now that her mom and Ben have left, so she convinces Billy to stay overnight with her. They decide to host a party at Jane’s house and ensure a large crowd will attend after Billy sends out texts that announce no parents will be present. When Eli tries to set up another date with Jane, he is puzzled by her resistance to let him know her private side. And more complications arise when Zoe tells Billy he needs to stop spending the night with Jane. Meanwhile, a surprise call from Jeremy to Jane leads her and India and Gray to try one last time to get the Harrods designs from Jeremy by sending Jane to London to find him. Rita begins to suspect something not quite right is going on with Jane when she makes a few surprise visits to Jane’s house.

At Donovan Decker, Jeremy flees with the Harrods designs, leaving Jane, India and Eli to re-do the entire line from scratch for the big presentation to the Harrods executives. It’s Jane’s birthday, and everyone has seemingly forgotten. Sullen, Jane goes to school and work thinking all her loved ones have forgotten her big day. At school, Jane meets Zoe, who has captured Billy’s attention, igniting a twinge of jealousy in Jane. At work, she overhears Birdie tell Gray that Jane lied about her age on her application, causing Jane to become paranoid of being fired. Both her school and work friends have planned surprise parties for her. Back at school, Ben receives a birthday card for Jane from their mother, and contemplates whether or not to give it to her. Meanwhile, an old flame comes back into town with her eyes on Ben, causing Rita to become jealous.
12. The Celebrity

Jane, Jeremy and Carter are put to the test when India has them prepare a clothing line for Aiden Chayse, a famous teen heartthrob. Aiden hates their suggestions, but opts to go with one of Eli’s more casual, modest designs, and ultimately decides to stay with Donovan Decker’s design team. Jane sees Billy deserting himself socially, but doesn’t fight for him because she’s caught up in the celebrity life of Aiden Chayse. India convinces Jeremy to form an alliance to take down Gray. Meanwhile, Ben and Rita discuss where their relationship is going after Ben comes on a little strong.
11. The Replacement

Jane is seeing Billy for the first time since he told her, “It’s you” at the fashion show. Things are awkward between them, as Billy tries to avoid the subject and is frustratingly aloof toward Jane. Ben is conflicted between helping Jane pursue her fashion dreams and helping Rita keep Jane on track at school. Nick and Lulu have been dating for two months, but neither is truly happy, and they want Jane and Billy back. Meanwhile, Gray can’t seem to find someone fit to fill India’s old position, so she brings in her charming nephew, Eli, to contend for the job.

When Ben finds out about Jane’s job and that she’s been lying to him for months, he is not happy. After Ben forbids Jane to continue to work for Donovan Decker, Jane finds herself torn between lying to Ben once again, and giving up her dream job. Billy must appear in court after Tommy gets him in trouble with the law, and it doesn’t work in his favor that his Judge is Lulu’s father. Meanwhile, Gray realizes there is someone working for her that has been secretly relaying information about Donovan Decker’s designs to Beau Bronn.

Jane is excited to spend the weekend camping with her classmates, namely Nick. But when she finds out she’s going to have to travel to Beverly Hills to help India pick out a location for the new Donovan Decker store, she’s devastated she will miss it. Meanwhile, on the camping trip, Billy and Lulu attempt to forgive and forget after Lulu abandoned Billy at Nick’s party, but Lulu finds it hard to get past the fact that Billy and Jane are so close. And even though he despises the outdoors and everything associated with camping, Ben agrees to chaperone the trip in order to spend time with Rita.

When Donovan Decker is chosen to design a major celebrity’s wedding dress, the pressure is on when she hates their first design. Now they must come up with a stunning dress before she goes to another designer. Meanwhile, at Jane’s request, Billy and Nick get to know one another.

Jane must prepare and host a Trunk Show at Gray’s apartment as well as study for a tough test to maintain her chances of being class valedictorian…something she is in tie for with Lulu. Lulu and Billy realize they miss each other and Lulu tells Billy she wants to be with him and doesn’t care who knows. Despite the Trunk Show’s success, even though India tries to ruin it, Gray is unhappy with Jane because she did not break up with Brad for her as Gray instructed. Ben starts work at Jane’s school as the new assistant baseball coach.

After surviving her first week as assistant to Gray, Jane tries to balance the demands of high school and her job. But after she agrees to go the high school dance with Billy, Gray tells her she must create a preview line of what’s to come at a preview party—the same night as the dance. Meanwhile, Billy finally puts an end to the secret romantic meetings he has been having with Lulu after Nick discovers them kissing. Nick agrees not to tell anyone what he saw if Billy will convince Jane to talk to him.
