Sri Lanka’s forests rise above the rest of the country like islands out of the sea. Here, species found nowhere else in the world have been marooned on high forest plateaus. Its home to creatures such as the purple-faced leaf monkey which spends most of its time in the trees. Just fourteen troops in Sri Lanka contain monkeys with white pelts — ranging from piebald to snow-ball white.
