Rocky quickly adapts to the demands of her new job, but CeCe gets into trouble almost immediately due to her terrible work ethic. Meanwhile, Georgia prepares a dinner to celebrate Jeremy's birthday, and Tinka helps Flynn to make the perfect birthday cake. Will CeCe find a way to reform her work habits, or will her time at Bob's Kebobs soon come to an end? Will Tinka succeed in making the perfect birthday cake, and will it be finished in time for the party? And what will Rocky and CeCe make of Jeremy's son, Little Scooter, who they are about to meet for the first time?

After considerable effort to coax her mother into trusting her, CeCe is allowed to be left in charge while her mother goes away on an overnight trip with her boyfriend to meet his mother. With the quirky neighbor down the hall regularly checking in on them, CeCe and Flynn are doing just fine on their own and all is as it should be until temptation hits and CeCe’s ability to act responsibly is mightily challenged. Normally, Rocky or Ty would be perfectly able to help watch Flynn, but being deliriously sick with colds has greatly reduced their attentiveness. Can Flynn manage to keep himself out of trouble for just a few short hours? Will CeCe’s actions convince her mother that she can be trusted with more responsibility?

Increasingly annoyed at how much Jeremy is becoming part of her family's life, CeCe is happy when her mother suddenly breaks up with him a few days before Christmas. But did Georgia end their relationship because she wanted to, or because she knew CeCe had issues with him? Rocky attempts to get CeCe to be more empathetic towards her mother, but it may take something drastic to make CeCe understand just what her mother is going through. Will she realize the error of her ways? And even if she does, is it too late for Georgia and Jeremy? Meanwhile, Rocky and Flynn get trapped in a quarantined hospital room, and Dina begins to invade Deuce's locker space at school. Will CeCe and Louis become a couple, or will CeCe's self-absorption threaten the relationship? Will Rocky and Flynn be released from the boredom of quarantine, or are they stuck there indefinitely? Will Deuce let Dina take over his locker, or will he find a way to stand up for himself and assert his right to privacy?

When Rocky shows signs of depression following the burning of the Shake It Up, Chicago set, CeCe signs them up for the school's spirit squad. Meanwhile, Deuce convinces Dina to befriend Tinka, who is still looking for a new friend, and Flynn attempts to befriend the boy next door. Will Rocky's extreme sense of ambition alienate her from the rest of the squad, or will she and CeCe learn true school spirit and find a way to succeed? Will Dina's new friendship with Tinka jeopardize her relationship with Deuce, or will the two lovers find a way to surmount the challenge it poses? Will Flynn succeed in convincing his new friend that he's serious about maintaining the friendship, or will he grow tired of the effort and find somebody new to play with?

With the Shake It Up, Chicago's studio still in ruins, CeCe is having a hard time finding purpose in her life - that is, until she overhears an inspirational speech about finding one's spiritual side. Meanwhile, Rocky is pursued by a flirtatious 13-year-old, Flynn invites Jeremy to speak at his school for Career Day, leaving Georgia feeling insecure and jealous, and Deuce has fun drawing a mustache on Ty's face with magic marker. Will CeCe find genuine self-enlightenment, or has she just lost all sense of fashion? Will Rocky find a way to dissuade her persistent suitor? Will Georgia overcome her feelings of jealousy, or will she find a way to sabotage Flynn's career day? Will Ty get revenge on Deuce for his drawn-on mustache?

Cece and Rocky return to the Shake it Up, Chicago! studio, only to find it has been reduced to a smoldering ruin, due to an accidental fire. The show is put on indefinite hiatus, and, to make matters worse, it looks as though CeCe might be at fault for the blaze. Meanwhile, Gary, desperate for new work, takes a job at Crusty's, and Tinka mysteriously tries to befriend Rocky and CeCe. Will CeCe find a way to clear her name, or at least deceive the inspector, Jeremy Hunter, who has been assigned to investigate the cause of the fire? Or, having set up Jeremy and Georgia on a date, has she found a more duplicitous means of avoiding prison? Does Tinka have some ulterior motive, or is she just trying to be nice? Will Gary fit into his new role as host of a pizza parlor?
