And he heads to the tropical paradise of Costa Rica to discover how local people's love of fruit, packed with Vitamin C, could help to explain why they live so long. And he heads to a Costa Rican cattle ranch to eat black beans – a super food ingredient packed with protein and fibre – that keeps the cowboys riding day and night. And in Okinawa, a Japanese island that has one of the longest-lived populations on the planet, Jamie joins local people, including a 93-year-old, for their early morning exercise class and discovers the wonders of local ancient ingredient.
