As Christmas approaches Sharon is stunned to find out by accident that Tracey is selling the house and down-sizing for the boys' sake. Both sisters however unite on discovering that Travis wants to be a ;policeman whilst Garth falls for the homeless busker Jodie. He involves himself in providing dinners for the homeless, roping in Sharon, Tracey and Dorien who consequently find themselves in a tight spot. Then, with Christmas out of the way Tracey finds a surprise buyer for the house.

Tracey is perturbed to learn that Travis, working in Marbella on a gap year, has followed his Spanish girlfriend Angelina to Morocco and, accompanied by Sharon and Dorien, flies to Tangiers to locate him. In a bar owned by Dorien's old flame Vince they discover that he is in jail, charged with stealing an antique vase and set out to unmask one of three suspects they believe to have set him up. Identifying the culprit endangers them all and they have to resort to disguise and a dodgy pilot to get them home. Fortunately the insurance money Sharon has conned out of a false claim for industrial injury comes in useful but the escapade sees them literally up in the air before they return to Chigwell.

Sharon and Tracey suspect that Dorien is fast approaching “The Big Seven 0”, and decide that, whether she likes it or not, the event calls for celebration.

Travis has serious school news that he’s scared to break to his mum. Sharon decides she’ll pass herself off as Tracey and sort out his problems, but her efforts land the family in a mess that only arch-seducer Dorien can get them out of.

A surprise visitor in the form of the attractive Emma turns up at Tracey’s house. Sharon’s suspicious, Tracey is welcoming, and Dorien is shocked to the core. Travis, on the other hand, is over the moon.
