He needs Billy’s help but he’s distracted with his own agenda. Spencer, on a dare from Billy, swipes Principal Ponzi’s toupee, he thinks it’s just an innocent prank. But as the duo messes around with the hideous hairpiece, Billy makes the mistake of using his ghostly ectoplasm as styling gel, and the wig comes to life. It sets out on a spree of malicious mischief, and ultimately has its sights set on revenge against Ponzi.

Spencer’s family doesn’t care – they just like being famous – but Spencer is suffering some serious humiliation at school. That is, until he figures out how to turn the tables on Lolo.

Things take a turn for the worse when Ponzi confiscates the doll and acts out revenge against his enemies. Will Spencer and Billy recover the doll before Ponzi’s twisted game spells doom for Billy?/Billy tries to help Rajeev win over Lolo by teaching him one of his songs, so powerful that it makes any listener fall madly in love with the singer. But when Lolo accidentally hears Spencer singing it, she falls for him instead, and hounds him wherever he goes. But Wendy turns out to be a regular crocodile, now fully grown. Spencer realizes this man-eating beast can’t stay, but Billy refuses to accept this. To complicate matters, through a series of misunderstandings, Hugh is under the mistaken impression that Wendy (whom he never gets a look at) is Spencer’s new girlfriend. And the barbecue he’s preparing in her honor makes him a meat-juice-stained target for the hungry croc.

Spencer tries on Billy’s ectoplasm-covered fur coat and stands under the moonlight, he’s accidentally turned into a werewolf. Spencer would think this was pretty cool if it wasn’t class-picture day. But when Hugh and Jane cut short their trip, and the cleaner is nowhere to be found, is Spencer headed for trouble?/When Spencer tries out for the school wrestling team to fulfill his athletics requirement, Ponzi is determined to see him fail so that he’ll have to enroll in the principal’s “Ponz-aerobics” class. Billy promises to protect him, but that’s before Billy realizes that if he puts on the school mascot costume, he can perform for the audience, despite his invisibility. Spencer offers to throw a party for Rajeev on Billy’s private plane. With Lolo doing her best to sabotage it, Ponzi turning up as an accidental stowaway, and pilot Billy freaking about damage to his precious decor, the party is starting to look like a disaster. And that’s before the autopilot breaks and Billy has to admit he doesn’t really know how to fly. When the pop sensation Jonah Tyler Taylor comes to town and the cutest girl in school invites Spencer to sit with her at the concert, it looks like everything is going Spencer’s way. There’s only one problem: Billy despises JTT for redoing one of Billy’s songs and making it a bigger hit. Spencer realizes Billy would never forgive him if he knew that he was going to the concert, so he lies to Billy. Things come to a head when Billy shows up at the concert, intending to ruin it.

When Rajeev proves to be too much of a wuss to play the hero in Spencer’s martial arts movie, Spencer himself is forced to step into the role. Billy suggests that bully Kleet would be a natural for the role of villain, and Spencer agrees. But it turns out that Kleet is the world’s worst actor, and the only way to get him to convincingly portray a crazed zombie lord is to get him so mad that he really wants to kill Spencer. Billy becomes obsessed with gum-chewing, and when his ghostly ectoplasm mixes with bubblegum, a giant bubble he blows come to life. Spencer thinks this is pretty cool and decides to make a horror movie – “The Blob” – about the bubble. But as obsessed Billy chews more and more gum, the Blob gets bigger and more out of control, and eventually swallows Rajeev, Lolo and the rest of Spencer’s family. Can Spencer stop the ever-growing monster from consuming the whole town?

7. Billy Joe's Last Fan / Let's Do Lunch

It’s the anniversary of Billy’s first number-one hit and he’s severely bummed that no fans have shown up to pay tribute, the way they do every year. Seeing an opportunity, Sam Hoover shows up ridiculously disguised as a fan. Spencer immediately points out that this is Hoover come to capture him, but Billy doesn’t care. He’s so desperate to still have a fan that he’ll believe anything Sam says, and even decides to hang out with him for the day. Spencer learns that big-time producer Barry Bernard is looking for a fresh face to direct his new horror movie, he knows he’s the man for the job. But Billy reminds Spencer that Barry would never hire a kid to make a movie. No problem – with the Cobra’s guidance, Spencer disguises himself as an adult and invites Barry to come to his house for a meeting. However Spencer’s family decide that they want to impress him too.

Spencer is shooting a “Jaws”-like movie in his pool using special effects to make his tiny guppy appear as a terrifying creature of the deep. Billy unwittingly turns the fish into an aquatic monster with his ectoplasm-tinged sweat. Before Spencer and Billy can get this menace out of the pool, it gets into the house and terrorizes Spencer’s family. Hugh, the avid angler, is determined to catch the pesky fish, but Spencer may have to come to his father’s rescue. Jessica develops a crush on Kleet, she invites him to start hanging at the house where the bully quickly realizes he can have fun tormenting Spencer. Hugh and Jane won’t help, because sly Kleet has won them over, and neither will Billy, because he’s busy trying to convince Spencer to make a movie starring him. At his wit’s end, Spencer finally figures out Kleet’s Achilles heel.

Spencer sees how much attention star athletes like Kleet get, he decides to become one himself – with an assist from Billy – in order to get more attention for his movies. Thanks to Billy’s ectoplasm, Spencer succeeds so wildly that Ponzi appoints himself Spencer’s manager and sets up a big exhibition, dreaming of endorsement riches. But when Billy’s ectoplasm goes haywire, Spencer finds himself in big trouble with his principal. Ponzi decides to make a self-glorifying biopic about himself in order to impress Ms. Rumsfeld, he blackmails Spencer into directing it. Realizing that the project will destroy his credibility as a filmmaker, Spencer enlists Billy to surreptitiously sabotage the filming, in the hope that Ponzi will abandon it. But Billy’s help only ends up harming Spencer, and the movie limps ahead. Can Spencer find a way out of Ponzi’s trap?

But when it’s time to return home for Hugh’s big birthday party, and Billy admits he has no idea how to make Spencer visible again, the two friends have a big problem on their hands. Billy throws a celebrity tantrum because Spencer won’t pick the chunks out of his chunky peanut butter, his ectoplasm-laced tears get into Spencer’s video-game system and bring the game Spencer’s playing to life. The evil game boss takes control of Spencer’s mind and vows to make him play the game forever. It’s up to Billy to save Spencer from life as a slave to the game.

Ponzi bans Spencer’s super-scary special-effects extravaganza from the Beverly Beverly High talent competition, Spencer decides to put on a guitar extravaganza instead. But when Billy gets blended into a batch of Jane’s triple-fudge brownies and eaten by Ponzi and the kids at school, Spencer and Billy have bigger problems than losing the contest. Spencer is nominated for a short-film award and is allowed to bring a guest to the glamorous ceremony. Billy convinces him that if he doesn’t bring a celebrity date, his career will be over. Spencer sets out to find an appropriate date, but Billy, being Billy, has some warped ideas about how to meet women, and everything backfires. Spencer finally decides to reject Billy’s advice and go with Rajeev to the ceremony, but Rajeev has another surprise in store for him.

Billy starts going to school where, thanks to knowledge gleaned from touring the world, he outperforms Spencer in class. This leads Ponzi to tell Spencer he must pass a nearly impossible special exam or get kicked out of school. Ponzi discovers an obscure “no weirdos” rule in the school handbook, and thinks he can get rid of Spencer once and for all. But when he can’t catch him doing anything weird at school, Ponzi invites himself over to spend the night at the Wright’s home. Spencer tells Billy they can’t have any contact while Ponzi’s around. But is there any way Billy can keep a low profile for a whole night?
