Karl explores the idea of time and asks how we should spend our limited time on the planet. His journey begins in Germany, where he discovers Rumpology, a unique way of predicting the future by having his buttocks read. He then heads to Pittsburgh to meet a man who prefers to spend most of his time as a dog.

5. Waste

Karl explores the state of the planet and wonders whether there is anything we can do about all the waste we create. He begins in Mexico City, one of the most over populated cities in the world. He joins Julio, whose job it is to unblock the pumps at the local sewage works, diving deep into raw sewage to clear out the debris. He also goes to Osnabruck in Germany to join a group of musicians who have found a creative way of turning old bins and bits of rubbish into musical instruments.

4. The Body

Karl looks at how we should treat our bodies and finds out what lengths people will go to in order to be healthy. In Iceland he meets ‘The Ice Man’ who believes that we would all be a lot healthier if we trained our bodies in freezing temperatures. Karl continues his journey in Calcutta, India where he meets a man dedicated to Urine Therapy, and finally, in Tokyo Karl undergoes ‘small face therapy’.

3. How to Live Your Life

Karl travels to the USA to meet people with unique attitudes to life. Karl begins his journey in Monterey in California where he meets Buddhist Monk Rinopche, who believes that we should live our lives without harming any living creatures. Together they go out and buy crabs that are about to be eaten before sailing out into the ocean to release them back into the wild.

Karl continues to investigate life's big questions by exploring the key factors that shape people's identities, including gender, accents, hair and clothes. He heads to Los Angeles where he goes for a stroll on Newport beach dressed as a woman, before travelling to Atlanta to meet a man who has made a business out of putting hair back onto the heads of bald men. Karl's journey also takes him to Las Vegas, where he speaks to those who make a living out of looking like celebrities.

He meets artists who make sculptures out of dog muck, attempts to create a masterpiece from his own vomit and strips down to his pants for a spot of performance art in Times Square.
