Westward have had a tough few weeks but there’s no better place to inspire them than the home of English football, Wembley Stadium. It’s a place that holds some very special memories for David and after some surprises for the boys, he hopes it can lift them as they approach their final games of the season. Westward must play their hearts out and use everything David has taught them to survive in the premier league. The games are full to the brim with drama – has he achieved his mission and saved them from relegation? After a season of highs and lows, David says his goodbyes to the team, the coaches and the families after an emotional final award ceremony. They’ve taken him on an unforgettable journey and being part of their club is one of the most important things he’s done in his career.

Westward is a family club and David wants the boys to realize that. They must unite as a family – win, lose or draw. Westward are on the up, but David knows the next few games are crucial – a few losses and they will be back in the relegation zone. So, it’s time to test their fitness with the dreaded bleep test. David notices Kuro is upset and decides to visit him at home to discover what is troubling him. He discovers that what Kuro has faced off the pitch is much harder than what is happening on it. After a heart-breaking game, David decides the boys need a boost so he sends them off to meet their idols including Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish at England’s training ground. It’s a moment they will never forget.

2. Stepping Up

With one of their key players out with an injury, David calls for Westward to step up if they want any chance of surviving relegation. With a big game on the horizon, David spends one-to-one time with some of the boys. Ethan is the heart of the defense but lacks focus, Miles reveals spending time on the bench has given him a confidence crisis and star striker Rio tells David that he is struggling to handle the pressure. It becomes clear that mindset is a major problem for the team and something that David must change. After a dramatic game, David sets up a day out at the local professional club, Leyton Orient, to help the boys understand pressure: a penalty shoot-out in front of a crowd of thousands. For striker, Bryan, this is a chance to prove himself as this was the club that released him.

David Beckham returns to East London where his footballing journey began. Joining with grassroots under-14s side, Westward Boys, he has a mammoth task on his hands. Westward haven’t won a game all season, and the threat of relegation looms large. After another heavy defeat, David surprises the boys in the changing room for an inspiring post-match team talk. The boys are on cloud nine, having a footballing legend join their team, but David knows saving their season will be far from easy. On the training pitch David gets to work, giving the boys a free-kick masterclass. He relates to one of the boys after an isolating experience, and just when he thought things couldn’t get worse, an injury to one of their star players sends shockwaves throughout the squad.
