10. Czechmate

2010 - Season 20

We last left off just before the final Gulag showdowns. The boys are up first and with Derrick and Tyler in the ring we can only expect the toughest performances. Will Tyler be able to pull off back to back wins or will the tiny ball of muscle Derrick be victorious? With an obvious height and weight favor, Tyler pushes Derrick to his limit in the first round. In the second round, Derrick pushes as hard as he can, but he's no match for Tyler who comes out victorious. The next match up is between rookie beast Emily and unproved Paula. With another weight favor, Paula just can't hold out against Emily as she sends the battered vet home. As the teams gear up for the final challenge they have one last night of fun as Jenn and Tyler appoint Cutthroat Superlatives for each cast member. Of course, Brad and Tori are officially crowned the King and Queen of Cutthroat. The next day, the teams arrive at the final challenge suited up and ready to go. The would be underdogs, the Grey Team, known for their eccentric but wildly successful game play are ready to go with 5 strong players. The Red Team, who has backstabbed their way to 4 players is itching for a win. And the now official underdog Blue Team is comprised of only two women, Emily and Jenn. TJ sounds the horn and the teams start off running... that is until Tori gets winded and decides to power walk. The Blue Team twosome arrives at the Seeing Spots Czech Point first. As the other teams shoot paint balls at their teammates the Red Team is the first to take off to the second Czech Point. The Teams arrive at So Tired and Blue Team twosome realizes that they might be in over their heads when they have to roll larger than life tires to the next Czech Point. At the Down and Dirty Czech Point, Grey Team leader Abe begins to feel a little funny but keeps the pain to himself. But when the Grey Team arrives at Free Ride they realize that their leader might need some helping out. Despite his feverish sermon and shaky legs, the Grey Team carries Abe as far as they can and then lets the EMS takeover when he starts convulsing and vomiting on the road. With their leader down can the Grey Team pull out a win? The Blue Team arrives at Free Ride and since there are only two of them they adopt a dummy they name Ted and carry his yellow scuba body. Back with the Grey Team, Sarah begins to feel the pain of carrying Cara Maria and asks to take a break. When a break turns into vomiting the Grey Team sends Sarah to hang out with Abe in the hospital as they try to pull together some sort of victory. With Laurel now having to work with the two people she tried to get rid of, Cara Maria and Luke, it feels a little less like a final and a little more like ironic karma. With the Blue Team still carrying Ted and the Grey Team literally falling apart the Red Team has taken a nice lead. They fly through the Hard Wood Czech Point and move onto the final portion, the puzzle. As they're forced to memorize Czech road signs and then trample through ponds, mud and barbed wire when they try to piece it together they realize there's something more. An extra piece has been added to mess with the challengers and it comes down to one letter in one word. Good thing Tyler arbitrarily learned Russian in college, little did he know it would come in handy on a challenge. As the Red Team finishes the puzzle and runs toward a giant castle they know that they're close to crossing the finish line. When they bust open the castle doors, TJ is waiting at the top with a smile and a check for $120,000.

9. Always a Bridesmaid…

2010 - Season 20

Last time on Cutthroat you saw Johnny and CT get ready for battle, well this episode picks up right where the last one left off. If what you wanted was to witness a battle so epic that it would leave you in shock and awe, then you came to right place, because when Johnny makes one wrong move it's all over in the blink of an eye. CT wears Johnny Bananas like a backpack as he stomps through the Gulag, dropping the notorious bad boy on the barrel, ending it all in 18 seconds. But it's not quite over yet for Johnny, Tyler still has to battle CT. It's Tori's turn to take on Tina and she's able to drag her across the Gulag rather quickly, sending Theresa home. Next up is Tyler, who in fact is able to hold his ground for 19 seconds and sends Johnny home in what will go down in Gulag history as the most embarrassing defeat ever. Back at the house, Laurel is still itching to get Luke and nemesis Cara Maria off the Grey Team. So she rallies Sarah and the Blue Team together. The plan? Blue and Grey will work together to force Red into a loss, then Grey will let Blue win, sending Grey into deliberations where Cara Maria and Luke will be sent into the Gulag, lose, thus leaving Abram, Sarah and Laurel with a larger pot. Sounds simple enough right? Well yes, because at the Riot Act challenge when it's painfully obvious that Sarah and Laurel are throwing the challenge, Abram calls them out and warns them that they will answer for the Grey Team's loss. Threatened by Abe's sway, Laurel and Sarah start working and the Grey girls win their round. In the boys' round, Luke and Abram try teaming up with Blue Team lone wolf Derrick. But the three are no match for Red as the giants knock the other boys off one by one. With the Grey girls having won the first round and the Red boys having won the second, the winner comes down to a one on one battle between Abe and Brad. As Brad reluctantly enters the battlefield, Abe senses fear and turns his crazy switch on, pushing Brad off the mound and winning the last challenge for the Grey Team. With the failure of Sarah and Laurel's plan they have to suck it up and prepare to go into a final with Luke and Cara Maria. As the sullen team trudges back to the house, they share in a not so chipper victory dinner. With tension mounting, Cara Maria and Laurel have a heart to heart in which Laurel tells Cara Maria that she's a JV player on a varsity team. Gulag deliberations go smoothly for Blue, sending in lone wolf Derrick and a volunteering Emily. However, trouble brews in Red's den when recent Gulag winner Tyler gets thrown in over an unproven Brad and Dunbar goes back on his word and votes Paula in. As the Gulag approaches, a weary Paula tries to appeal to Emily to go easy on her. Would the former hot tub buddy let Paula into the final and send herself home or would she think like a rational person and think Paula was crazy and pathetic? Probably the latter. That night, as the teams arrive at the final Gulag the tension is high and so are the stakes, but you'll have to watch next week to see what happens, because yes, it's another "to be continued..."

8. Back With a Vengeance

2010 - Season 20

With the game winding to an end and with the money in sight, Laurel and Sarah are looking to cash in by conspiring with the Blue Team. Their plan: throw the next challenge and send Cara Maria and Luke into the Gulag to split their already large pot fewer ways. Their only problem: Abram is suspicious of the girls' schemes and has a plan of his own. While Blue and Grey are busy conspiring, the Red Team is eating itself from the inside, especially Tyler who chooses to eat his frustration. After a night of needed sleep, Derrick comes to his team and tells them about a nightmare he had about getting sent home in the Gulag by Tyler. Could his dream be only that or could it forebode an end? Meanwhile on the Red side, preparing for that day's challenge is difficult for couple Brad and Tori, whose political strategy seems to get in the way of their relationship... and Brad missing their puppy. At the High Ball challenge, the challengers are faced with a balancing act when they have to transport balls on martini glass type structures up a hill. Talk about an uphill battle, no one can quite seem to get even half way up, except of course for Abram and Laurel, who's plan to throw the challenge failed after her competitive nature kicked in. With a decisive victory for Grey, it seems that Cara Maria and Luke survive to see another challenge but that floundering Red and Blue will possibly have to sacrifice yet more teammates to the Gulag. At deliberations both sides step up to the plate when all participants volunteer themselves into the gulag. But when Johnny, Theresa, Tori and Tyler find out that they will not be competing with each other but with heavy hitters CT and Tina, the beads of sweat pour and the teeth begin to chatter. The challenge is Back Up Off Me and first up is Tina and Theresa. But when Theresa slowly drags Tina across the winning line, it will be Tori's match to come that decides who will go home. When the dust settles and CT and Johnny get strapped together and ready for action it looks like it's shaping up to be a Gulag to remember.

7. Hell Hath No Fury

2010 - Season 20

It's Dunbar's birthday and the challengers throw him a surprise party complete with streamers, balloons, hot tub pillow fight and topless wrestling match. When the festivities die down, the challengers remember that they're in a competition and secret alliance Laurel and Sarah plot to get Cara Maria off their team. At the Gimme A Hand challenge, the challengers must pair up and tight rope walk across two buildings... while tied together. Simple right? Not so much for the Red Team, when after Paula and Dunbar fall, Tori and Brad forfeit their turn to save face. With her team in the loser's seat, Camila knows she will be going into the Gulag, but who will join her? When the Grey Team is up Cara Maria conquers her fear of heights with a Tarzan-like Abe, Laurel and Sarah alliance their way across the rope but when it comes time for the Danimal and Luke to cross they fall flat, sending the Grey Team into deliberations. When it comes time for the Grey Team to deliberate, Laurel goes up in arms when Abe throws her name on the table. Laurel seems to think that Abe's decision to send her in instead of Cara Maria has something to do with their relationship, which Abe fervently denies to her face but confirms in the confessional. When the votes have been cast TJ reveals that the only person on the Red Team to not get votes was Paula aka the person that failed the challenge. The Red Team sends in birthday boy Dunbar and Gulag Champ Camilia. They Grey Team honors Dan's wishes to be sent in and kicking and screaming Laurel is sent in to face the pint-sized Brazilian. At the Gulag the contestants find out they will be playing Die Hard, a game that levels the playing field. When Dan and Dunbar face off the Animal is sent home by Dummy Bear, but he's sent home with congratulations from the challengers for making it through sober. Up next is the David and Goliath-like matchup between Laurel and Camila. With the closest Gulag game yet, Laurel wins by one turn of her dice and sends the feisty Brazilian home.

6. Where the Red Team Blows

2010 - Season 20

While the Red Team eagerly awaits Chet's return to the house, whipping boy Brandon confides in Luke that he thinks he won't have to go back into the Gulag. For Johnny and Derrick, the only two guys left on the Blue Team, they know that the time's coming when they'll have to face off and prove themselves as the tough veterans they appear to be. When Chet returns to the house, it's nothing but smiles and hugs, that is until TJ stops by and tells Chet that he has to leave, apparently Challengers aren't designed for people with severe concussions. With a player unjustly lost and on a losing streak, the Red Team goes into the Sky Hook challenge nervous. When Grey chooses them to go first, the Red Team throws Brandon to the lions as they nominate the rookie to lead the team on a challenge they have no strategy for. When the Red Team fails at the Sky Hook challenge, it's up to the skinny Blue Team to set the bar. Derrick puts himself in the shooting position and sets the bar high with four made balls. But leave it to Grey Team to one up them; when Abram swings up to the hoop, he sinks five balls giving his team their second straight victory. At deliberations, it's no surprise to the team, but very much a surprise to Brandon when his name gets called out. Brad tells him he was in a high risk, high reward position and he just so happened to fall on the short end of the deal. When the teams go down into the dungeon the Red Team's disunity is apparent when everyone on the team gets votes with the exception of Tori and Tyler. The Blue Team is a different story though, the rookie Emily and veteran Derrick step up and volunteer themselves, making the Blue Team's votes unanimous and giving TJ another reason to scold the Red Team when they haphazardly throw in Melinda and Brandon. That night, the challengers get to go to a local bar, with the liquor flowing and everyone having a good time someone needs to stir the drama pot and who better than the newly safe from the Gulag Camila. When Camila tells Brad that she voted for him to go into the Gulag, Brad is not too happy, and neither is the Mrs. When Tori gets wind of the situation she puts an old school style hit on Camila, promising that she will go into the Gulag every single time. When the challengers get back to the house, Camila tries to explain herself to her team and appeal to Paula, but the damage is done and a permanent wedge has been driven in between the floundering Red Team and their one competent player. At the Gulag, the contestants find out they will be competing in Handcuffs. The girls are up first and when Melinda goes up against the Emily beast it's a clear and decisive victory for Blue. Next up are the boys, and with Brandon already having won Handcuffs and Derrick being Derrick the teams know they're in for a good show. Brandon puts up a good fight, but he's no match for the ball of muscle that is Diesel and Derrick sends the Gulag Champion home with hugs all around.

5. Couching Tyger, Hidden Danimal

2010 - Season 20

While the Red Team celebrates winning two challenges in a row, they leave out one of their best players. And as Camila continues to feel alienated from the Red Team, she grows closer to Johnny. For the Danimal, a house full of drinking and celebration would be just the thing, except that he's in recovery and all the boozing is just brining him closer to his breaking point. So he does what any good boy would do, he calls mom and she bestows some age old wisdom upon him. Dan knows that if he can make it out of the Cutthroat house without taking a drink, he can make it anywhere. Speaking of drinking, while the challengers enjoy some beer pong, a bet arises. If Ty can get his ball in a cup from the couch, he'll get money, if he misses, well then Luke has to get a little more than friendly with the Hercules of the Blue Team. When Ty throws an obvious air ball a question in the house arises, is it "gay" for a man to be serviced by another man? While the challengers debate the finer points of male on male love, a drunken Ty goes too far and picks a fight with Brandon. Before anything can escalate, the other challengers break up the fight and Ty cools off, for the night at least. The next day is the fifth challenge and with the Gray Team lagging behind, sober Dan shaves a V for victory into his hair. At the Surf's Up challenge, the contestants must pair up and ride a surfboard suspended above water. While the Gray and Blue teams sail through the challenge, the Red Team has some serious setbacks. When Chet's up, his thirty foot fall lands him in serious distress and he's rushed to the hospital. However, Chet is the least of the Red Team's problems, when it's Brandon's turn he panics, cramps up and causes himself and Dunbar to disqualify, slapping the Red Team with a time penalty. With one of their stronger players in the ER and a complete challenge fail, the Red Team loses the buzz from their two win streak. It's time for deliberations, but with Chet spending the night in the hospital he is unable to be nominated. Wanting to get rid of their weakest player, the Blue Team sends in Gulag vet Katie and needing the rookie to prove himself, they send in Ty. For the Red Team the vote is easy, send in the whipping players, Brandon and Camila. That night, when Emily tries to play a prank on Ty he freaks out, throws a tree in her bed and then pins her under the two story bunk bed... because that's the same as putting shaving cream on an already bald head. With the Blue Team seeing that Ty may be a loose cannon, they worry about his place in the game. It's Gulag time and the teams eagerly await the matches. First up are the boys, a showdown that both contestants have been itching for. When Ty and Brandon compete in Pole Me Over, Ty easily pushes Brandon back, knocking over his barrels. But when the players resent for round two, Ty gets gassed out and falls over the chains. When Ty refuses to get off the ground, TJ calls it and Brandon is the upset winner, sending home the Blue Team's "secret weapon." Next up are the ladies and Camila must compete against one of her only friends in the house, Katie. The two girls might be a good match in size, but Camila's strength proves best as she sends the battered vet home. While the Red Team celebrates getting back both players, Chet lies in the hospital.

4. Swat the Hell?

2010 - Season 20

Love is in the air at the Cutthroat house; while Abe and Cara Maria partake is some eccentric extra-curricular activities, Luke's crushing hard on the feisty Brazilian Camila. Too bad for Luke, Camila only has eyes for bad-boy Johnny Bananas. At the challenge, the competitors must run an obstacle course on a horse track while pushing, pulling and fighting one another, sounds like a day at the races. But when the competition gets a little too rough and Cara finds herself in a Big Easy chokehold, Abe is her knight in shining armor, saving her from Big Easy's clutches. With the girls making it through the challenge easily and the boys fighting one another, poor Ty gets left behind and is the last person to finish. Is Ty the Hercules his team hoped for or just another disappointing let down? At Gulag deliberations, Ayiiia calls out Cara for crying during the challenge, though it's rookie Ayiiia who gets thrown into the Gulag. Itching for some one on one time, Luke throws himself in, perhaps to win the heart of his beloved Camila? Over at Blue Team deliberations, Katie volunteers to go in for a second time to prove herself to her team since Shauvon so easily handed the last Gulag to Katie. For the boys, the decision was not so easy, when the team reaches a deadlock between Ty and Big Easy with the prospect of TJ allowing Luke to pick any Blue Team guy, the Blue Team unifies and sends Big Easy into the Gulag again. With Camila feeling alienated from her team, she runs to the comforting yet conniving arms of Johnny, but when Brad gets wind of their relationship he runs to Queen Tori and the Red Team talk strategy. Can they trust Camila if she's in cahoots with Johnny? That night, the challengers walk into the Gulag to see a torture table set up, complete with two iron collars. TJ explains that the Gulag contestants will be strapped into the contraption and have a slap off to the death. Well not exactly to the death, but until someone cries owe. When Ayiiia and Katie get a little too slap happy they can't stop laughing. But when Katie comes out victorious, Ayiiia's the one with red on her face. Next up is the boys and when they take the slapping a little more seriously the pain shows. When Luke ends Big Easy's Cutthroat career he returns to his team and hopefully into the heart of Camila.

3. Karma's a Bitch

2010 - Season 20

The Cutthroat house is all about the party. As Paula and Emily enjoy their embrace of drunken lesbianism, Laurel mixes Screwdrivers with her mouth and gets a little tipsy. When Big Easy strolls on over to the notorious hot tub, Laurel goes on a drunken rant, personally attacking Easy, calling him fat and ugly. With Laurel clearing out the hot tub and making the nicest guy in the house cry, it's shocking that she doesn't get along with more people in the house. At the third challenge, TJ announces the name of the game, Bed Head, a challenger where the contestants must have their whole team jump from bed to bed, something the challengers should be used to. The Red Team, led by King Brad and Queen Tori, fly through the challenge. But when it comes time for the Gray Team to bounce, the possible fall into the water below makes Shauvon flashback to her Thailand days and the agonizing pain of thinking that she popped her implant. And so she disqualifies her team and Sarah, her Thailand teammate, throws a fit. When it comes time for the Blue Team to have a go at it, everyone waits with eager eyes for little Katie to make the leap. And she almost does make the platform, she even grazes the other bed with her face, spinning into the water below and becoming the proud owner of two matching shiners. Back at the house, the Red Team celebrates their victory with dinner and drink as the Gray and Blue Teams deliberate to see who will face off in the Gulag. Shauvon volunteers herself for the Gulag but the decision comes as an offense to Big Easy and Vinny who regrettably hear their fate. However, their sour faces are nothing compared to the brewing storm that is Hurricane Katie when the battered babe is called into the Gulag by her team. So what does a Gulag bound chica do when she's sad? She drinks and picks fight, and does Katie ever. Like a Chiuaua yapping at a Great Dane Katie picks a fight with Ty, who, threatened by her intense frame, threatens to hit her. Katie goes ballistic and the only one who can calm her down, and restrain her, is Brandon, a challenger who knows what it feels like to be the scapegoat of his team. With all that's been going on in the house, the challengers are in need of a break, and Mother Nature gives them just that when the night's Gulag gets rained out. So to the local Prague bar is where the challengers go, and wherever the challengers go a fight follows. As everyone leaves the bar, Johnny gets in a fight with a local, ending in yet another black eye. Running back to the safety of the Gulag, the challengers are finally ready for the faceoff between their unwanted teammates. Vinny and Big Easy are the first to play Die Hard, and when a juiced up Vinny loses to Easy there's more bleeping than on a Jerry Springer reunion special. Next up is the pint sized Katie and the bodacious Shauvon, however, Shauvon's got a speech prepared and decides to quit the game in exchange for respect from her team. TJ does his signature speech against quitting and Katie gets to return to the Black & Blue Team.

2. Newbie Doobie Doo

2010 - Season 20

With rumors abounding that the house is haunted, the challengers fear more than what Cutthroat has in store for them. But when they realize that those creaking floorboards and spooky moans are just coming from Abe and Cara's tribal relationship, a calm comes over the house. Indeed love is in the air, when Chet rescues Mandi from a rogue bumblebee, she sees stars; but when drunk Laurel talks smack about their relationship Chet once again comes to the rescue. Could Mandi and Chet truly be in like or are they just using each other for votes? At the second challenge, TJ announces that they will be hanging upside down; when Abe gets wind of the situation he promptly sits out with Shauvon so he can scream, drill sergeant style, at his teammates. As the Gray and Red teams fail miserably at upside down acrobats, the Blue Team, fresh off their tour with Cirque De Soleil, soars through the challenge with ease, picking up their first victory. Back at the house, it's time for deliberation and secret voting. The Gray Team sends in Cara Maria and JD to compete in the Gulag again Red Team members Mandi and second time Gulag-goer Brandon. The final vote shocks Mandi and her belief system, she promptly asks Chet whether he voted her in or not, which he admirably denies. However, Mandi's suspicions prove true when the pretty boys sun themselves and gossip, Chet lets slip that he voted for Mandi to prove loyalty to his team. At the Gulag, first up is JD and Brandon. With all the animosity Brandon's built up against his team and with JD being about half his size, Brandon dominates and reluctantly goes back to his backstabbing team. Next up is the girls, and as Cara Maria enters the Gulag in ripped t-shirt and skull beads, Mandi does a makeup check and smoothes out her blonde locks. When TJ sounds the alarm, it's a fight to the finish in Back Up Off Me, a game where both players are strapped to one another. With every ounce of badass in her body, Cara pulls through to win and return to her tribal toy, Abe. Unfortunately for Mandi, she must return home and try to find a guy who won't lie to her.
