Now Ringo is ready for his first fight, although it won’t have the outcome he expects.

He is welcomed by Joe Conforte, who bought his contract, Joe's wife, Sally, and Willard Ross Brymer, their bodyguard. In 1963, the young Argentine heavyweight Ringo is suspended after a controversial fight at the Pan American Games in Sao Paulo. When his short boxing career seems doomed, along comes the chance to reinvent himself in New York. Dora, his wife, encourages him to make the move.
